Here is further proof jesus did not have brothers or sister and that in fact the brothers and sisters mentioned in the bible are just relatives.

In Mt. 27:55-56,James and Joses mentioned in Mark 6 as the "brothers" of Jesus, are actually the sons of another Mary. This is clear because this mary is watching jesus crucifixation from far off. The mother of jesus was at the foot of the cross. Another passage to consider is Acts 1:14-15, "[The Apostles] with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus and with His brothers...the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty." A company of 120 persons composed of the Apostles, Mary, the women, and the "brothers" of Jesus. Let's see there were 11 Apostles at the time. Jesus' mother makes 12. The women, probably the same three women mentioned in Matthew 27, but let's say it was maybe a dozen or two, just for argument's sake. So that puts us up to 30 or 40 or so. So that leaves the number of Jesus' brothers at about 80 or 90! Obviously mary did not have this many children.

Lastly it may be seem like joseph would have had sex with his wife based on todays standards. But remember Mary was visited by an angel of god and was told that she would be the mother of the son of god. The bible specifically states that mary did not have sex prior to the birth of jesus. If they did not have sex while they were pregnant, what is the difference, why have sex after. It makes sense that joseph may have considered that mary was purified by god and he may have respected her special relationship with god and not had sex with her.

The bible does not clearly teach that jesus had brothers and sisters as you state:

First off there was no word for cousin, or for nephew or niece, or for aunt or uncle in ancient Hebrew or Aramaic - the words that the Jews used in all those instances were "brother" or "sister". For example, in Genesis 14:14, where Lot who was Abraham's nephew is called his brother.

If Jesus had had any brothers, if Mary had had any other sons, would the last thing that Jesus did on earth be to grievously offend his surviving brothers? In Jn 19:26-27 prior to jesus death jesus intrusted the care of his mother to john his diciple, if mary had any other sons this would have been a great insult in jewish tradition.

Remember, all questions have answers, sometimes you just have to search for them!!!

Just a few follow up comments:

You believe Jesus would not consider his healing as work because he was not a mortal and did it through miracles. But that was not what jesus was trying to teach remember what he said was if an ox falls into a hole on the sabbath would you not get it out. I believe he was giving the example that even a mortal helping someone (ie working) on the sabath was ok even though it violated a law because it helpped protect life which god holds as the most important

Additionally, I read your article about vaccination, I must say being that I have extensive personal study in the area of medical history, quite simply I do NOT agree, first off small pox was transmitted via the respiratory route and therefore improved sanitary conditions would have not had any impact with this disease (yes other diseases such as polio, cholera, ect would be helped by sanitation), any respectable expert in the history of medicine would agree that the small pox vaccine, originally developed by edward jenner, is what caused this horrible disease to be eliminated from that vaccination did not reduce suffering of millions of people is quite frankly a serous error.

As far as the scriptural evidence charles russell may have had when he made the statement in the watchtower that the restrictions in acts were not ment to be binding on the gentiles but rather to help christians and jews get along, we must consider 1 corentians below

1 2 Now in regard to meat sacrificed to idols: we realize that "all of us have knowledge"; knowledge inflates with pride, but love builds up.

2 If anyone supposes he knows something, he does not yet know as he ought to know.

3 But if one loves God, one is known by him.

4 So about the eating of meat sacrificed to idols: we know that "there is no idol in the world," and that "there is no God but one."

5 Indeed, even though there are so-called gods in heaven and on earth (there are, to be sure, many "gods" and many "lords"),

Here we see that although in acts there is a prohibition against eating meat sacrificed to idols, paul states we are no worse off if we do not eat (if this was a law we would be much better off if we did not eat), this is basically saying if you read it carefully that we perhaps should choose not to eat the meat sacrificed to idols not because it is bad for us but in order to help keep are brothers strong (ie in acts to keep peace with the jews)

Again these are just some things to consider

I have a few questions in response to your post

1 If you told a doctor or nurse after a long shift at the hospital that they were not working, they were just healing would they agree with you. What do you think?

2 How do you feel that working and healing are not the same, but eating and transfustion are, if you eat something it is digested and the body uses the nutrients, but if you transfuse blood the cells carry the oxygen, how do you feel this is the same?

3 Why do devout jews not agree that transfusion is wrong and that one should only not eat blood, This is a jewish law, wouldnt the jews know best?

4 Why do jws not follow the dietary law of not eating blood or fat, jws eat fat in meat and they do not insist on meat being prepared kosher, they often eat steak with small amounts of blood?

5 Why did charles taze russel the founder of the WT say that in acts the reason for the abstination from blood was so that there would not be arguments between the christians and jews during the formation of the early church, and that this ban would not be binding on the gentiles see Zion’s Watch Tower, Nov. 15, 1892, p. 1473 reprints)

5 How would you feel if the WT changed its policy next year and said that new light told them blood transfusions were ok?, Do not say this would not happen because in the 1930s they posted numerous articles stating that vaccination was a violation of the everlasting covenant of god with man, and that they must be avoided, many probably died as a result of not being immunized, They also said that the small pox vaccine would never prevent small pox, yet small pox has been completely eradicated from the world as a result of the vaccine. Now they tell people vaccines are good, why was vaccination unscriputral and a violation then but good now, could this not happen with the blood rule?

I am not trying to argue with you but am trying to get your view on this.

If we use your logic that the old testament in exodus says we should not work on the sabbath and this does not mean healing acording to you (even thought the early jews felt it was). Then we must clearly agree that by using the same logic in leviticus 3 when the lord says you may not EAT the blood or fat. We should take that as it is and agree that Eating does NOT equal transfusion. And therefore there should be no ban on blood transfusion

above learntoswim has claimed that working on the sabath was a law made by man and not God and jesus was mocking the pharases by not following it. However this is not true the law of not working on the sabath was from God himself.

See exodus 31

12 And the L ord spoke to Moses, saying, 13 "Speak also to the children of Israel, saying: 'Surely My Sabbaths you shall keep, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am the L ord who sanctifies you. 14 You shall keep the Sabbath, therefore, for it is holy to you. Everyone who profanes it shall surely be put to death; for whoever does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from among his people. 15 Work shall be done for six days, but the seventh is the Sabbath of rest, holy to the L ord . Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

This brings me back to my original question if the Jesus regarded life above the law following him would be to accept blood in order to save a life.

In resposnse to that argument that some one posted earlier on how they would respond, if you read the verse prior to that in mathew 16:24 jesus says take up your cross and follow me, by saying this supports the jw position is wrong because following jesus would be, as i said in the first post, to not let a law override the importance of life just as he did with the sabath rule

unfortunatly this does not exist but a reexamine.org has a place to upload useful literature scans, if everyone uploaded the particular isssues they have of the golden age we could eventually have a complete set.
